{"id":373,"date":"2015-02-28T21:28:26","date_gmt":"2015-02-28T21:28:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whaletimes.org\/?page_id=373"},"modified":"2019-05-31T19:35:29","modified_gmt":"2019-05-31T19:35:29","slug":"deepend-project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/whaletimes.org\/?page_id=373","title":{"rendered":"DEEPEND!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Creep into the DEEPEND&#x2122; <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>About Creep into the DEEPEND<\/strong>: As part of WhaleTimes&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/whaletimes.org\/?page_id=227\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virtual Research Missions<\/a>, students become part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deependconsortium.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DEEPEND consortium<\/a>,\u00a0a group of deep-sea scientists investigating the biodiversity and distribution of animals in the Gulf of Mexico\u2019s deep-sea ecosystem. The deep is by far the largest affected habitat from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. The consortium includes more than 30 scientists from 11 different universities and agencies, led by Dr. Tracey Sutton (Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center).\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: 'Georgia','serif';\">(<\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; font-family: 'Georgia','serif';\">Research funded by Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GOMRI) award number GOMRI2014-IV-914)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Creep into the DEEPEND programs are now over.
