Hagfish Day! This year,  join us to celebrate the ‘beauty of ugly’ on October 21, 2026. Seventeen years ago, WhaleTimes created Hagfish Day to celebrate the beauty of ugly. The goal: To raise awareness of all kinds of ocean animals, especially those that are less fortunate in the looks and behavior department. Why? All animals play an important role in their habitat, whether they’re as cute as a dumbo octopus or as slimy as a hagfish.
